Airplane Digital Servo
Failsafe or F/S on a RC helicopter or Airplane? Using the futaba 10CG?
I'm new to RC Controllers. My question is on the Futaba 10cg, link below. I want to know how the failsafe works like when I input the F/S positions into the controller does the positions get saved into the receiver or the servos them selves?
Reason why I ask is because I want to know if I have to buy futaba servos and if they must be digital or not. My other question is that I hear people talk about programing there servos, what's that all about?

Hi,
The f/s on a radio is set in to the Receiver what it dose is if you lose communications or your battery fails in your transmitter your plane the surfaces go to a position you setup engine to idle, stab center, rudder Straight, Get the idea. It dose not control the plane or vehicle just moves things to your setting you set for that. witch will give you the second or two till you get the vehicle back under control. Hopefully?
programing servos is if you need to reverse or have a different end point or to balance two servos to move the same speed or distance so they don't fight each other and strip gears or over toque each other. You need digital to do programming but you can use any digital servo I use HI Tech servos a lot of times. a standard servo you can set zero and trim and reverse but not the rest. your radio can do most of that but some people have a programmer box and it easier to use that if you don't under stand your radio that well.
