Buggy Tire Front
on my buggy i have seized brakes how can i fix them?
my buggy has been siting in the weather for more than 2 years.a couple of weeks ago we moved it under the shed, all the Tyre's roll which is good. we were trying to bleed the brakes , fluid is going through the brake tube things that a good thing but the brakes don't work... i took of the tyre and all that is under it is rusty dirt stuff.
can you please help me with it im not sure how to do it.
.by the way its Volkswagen brake thing at the front end.
The brake cylinders (drum brakes) and/or brake caliper pistons (disc brakes) have seized, normally due to corrosion.
You'll need to remove and dismantle them to check condition of the bores and pistons, if they're corrosion-pitted they'll need to be replaced, and if not you can rebuild them with a set of new seals.
If you do find corrosion, then assume every hydraulic component needs to be stripped and checked including any brake balancing valves.
Safety note: if your buggy has been sitting on it's tyres for two years then seriously consider replacing them, especially if they're already over ten years old and if you plan to use the buggy for road use. If the buggy was stored in the dark with the weight off the tyres then it's less of a problem as they'll have perished less. Old tyres do fail and have caused deaths.

When did your child stop using a pushchair?
My daughter is 3 and 3 months and she still goes in the front seat of my double(my other child is 18mo) all the time. If I suggest walking she will walk about 100metres then complain she is tired, I encourage her to keep walking but she says she doesnt want to.
The problem is the buggy is so so heavy with them in and also its a little big for the bus so sometimes theres no room for me to get on.
I do walk a lot though so is it reasonable to expect her to walk with me all the time now?
I think its reasonable to expect her to walk through the shops with you after you have caught the bus there or go for a walk around the neighbourhood but i'm not sure it would be fair to make her walk long distances. my kids usually stop going in a pram around 2 and a half - 3 but we only go on short walks to the park or the conrner shop etc.
I wouldnt expect my kids to walk really long distances.
