how far is it from Salem, Oregon to Los Angeles, California by car and airplane?
im interesting in visiting salem, oregon from los angeles california, but i would like to know how far is it by car and airplane? because in a few weeks i would like to visit there for summer vacation.. 2 weeks vacation actually...
oh and is it really cheap over there? like gas prices, sales taxes, etc... if so, or if not, could you tell me more detail about it? thanks

are contrails full of chemicals and are bad for the environment or are they harmless and mix in the clouds?
I cannot say whether they are harmless, but they *are* simply vapor trails. Jet engines produce an incredible amount of hot air, which is left behind them in a stream. Hot air can hold more water molecules than colder air, and so clouds are formed, assuming there is sufficient particulate matter to help the clouds form.
Once the airplane gets high enough, no amount of hot air can cause this effect to happen - which is why sometimes you see jet trails that just suddenly leave off.
