I am looking to get into R/C helicopters and want to know what some of the abbreviations mean?

Hello,
I am planing on buying a radio controlled helicopter in about two months. I have doing research on the web," so I can the most bang for my buck ". I have came across some abbreviations that I would like to understand . What does PIT mean? What does PLT mean? There are no doubt other abbreviations that I haven't seen yet, that are commonly used in the lingo of the R/C helicopter hobby. Can anyone give me the definitions of these abbreviations, and explain what they mean. Most of the R/C helicopter web sites are for people who have been in the hobby for years, and just use these abbreviation to save time, which is understandable. But what about new comers like myself who don't have a clue when it comes to PIT, PLT, and CCPM. Is there a web site, or book that can help the new comer?

I'm assuming you've read the beginner's sites and know some of the common definitions.

You're talking about transmitter functions.

CCPM = Collective, Cycle, Pitch Mixing. So you have three servos being electronically mixed to do these three jobs together instead of just having one servo for each.

PIT = Pitch throttle mixing (or displacement really)

PLT = Pitch range adjustment
