Helicopter Heli Max
First trip to the grand canyon - how should I see it?
I will be visiting the grand canyon for the first time from LA via Las Vegas. My friends who will be going with us wanted to a helicopter ride from vegas to the GC, since it will save us time, as this is a 2-3 night trip max.
The heli ride sounds fantastic but I know it only goes to the Grand Canyon west and not the real GC.
Given that we're going end of July (but can go Weds or Thurs) I am a bit concerned about the crowds at the S. Rim and therefore not sure how much time we would need to spend at GC.
Not really interested in any hikes and also would rather not spend hours standing in line in possibly hot weather.
Given these considerations should we take the heli ride or possibly drive to the N. Rim?
Will the crowds at the S. Rim be really bad even on a Weds or Thurs end of July? If we drive to either rim we would spend a night somewhere around there.
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Forget the helicopter ride that doesn't actually go ti bottom of the real Grand Canyon b/c it's against NPS & FAA regs to land an aircraft anywhere in GCNP unless it's on official business >Google GCNP No Fly Zones if you

Book Night 1 in Page AZ and Night 2 in LAS
Pop this into mapquest or whatever you're using
Start really early
Day 1
LAX>Hurricane UT [get gas ] North Rim AZ >Lees Ferry AZ >Page AZ
If I timed that just right then after you made the left from US 89A south onto US 89 N you should find yourself at great westward facing scenic overlook to watch the sunset
Day 2
Page AZ>Cameron AZ [get gas ] GCN> Kingman AZ[ get gas]LAS
Don't leave GCNP too much before dark because once you lose the trees on I-40 west at Ashfork AZ , the setting sun in your face can be just flat-out blinding
As far as the crowds go they will only become a real issue once you get west of Yaki Point
Park your car at the Visitors Center aka The Canyon View Information Plaza and take the free shuttle bus over to other shuttle bus that takes you out to Hermits Rest and then slowly work your way back to your vehicle

Is there a repair manual for a heli-max axe cp3 rc helicopter?
No there isn't. There is one for the Blade CP and Blade 400. What do you need help with? Maybe I could help you with it. I have a few helicopters, and the Axe CP. not the v3 though...
