what kinds of engines are out there that are light, have high rpm, and are effecient? and is there a such thing as a diesel nitro engine?

To answer your question all model airplane engines operate on diesel technology.What makes it a diesel, is a glow plug and not a spark plug. A glow plug like a diesel uses the engines existing heat and compression to fire the glow plug.
To order a good airplane, engine and radio combination call TOWER HOBBYS. Just do a google search with that name and look at their on line store.
Oh yeah, the other question. The diesel nitro engine is simply a glow plug engine that uses 5%,10% or15% nitromethane with alcohol oil mix.
Basically it's the same fuel top fuel dragsters use.
