Nitro Engine Air
is my nitro rustler overheating?
So i have been using my rustler again lately (after sitting on my desk for years), and i don't remember how to test if its over-heating. i put all the needles back to factory settings and after about a minute of running, the cooling head vaporizes my spit easily. To me that seems like its over heating which means it must be lean, but I'm not seeing any performance loss caused by being lean. The only thing I've noticed is that at the beginning of the run when its still cold, the engine boggs down and sometimes quits if i slam the throttle to maximum. The only other theory I have is that its not getting enough air because my air filter was dirty. (I just cleaned it and I'll try again)

Sounds like not enough air...Get yourself one of those led temp guages...This will help you to fine tune your nitro truck by temature also...They are about 25 to 30 bucks...www.hobbylobby.com and they gotem on ebay also...

can i put .15 nitro air plane engine in to .15 nitro RC car?
i got a new .15 nitro RC car that have no engine, and i got a .15 airplane engine i wondering if i can put it in to the car? if you can help me send me email at. sweetsoccer_boy89@yahoo.com
no you cant. NOPE NOPE NOPE... i dont know why the guy above said YES????
even tho the mounting might be the same the engine will not power the car properly. a .15 (car engine) usually has about 35,000 RPMs (or more) opposed to a .15 airplane engine that has less than 18,000RPMs so your speed will suffer. Also, an airplane engine is not going to run as cool as a car engine cause it doesnt have the correct heatsink on the head.... you'll just urn up the engine.
thats why buggy engines have large heads and airplane engines have smaller less efficient heads..
also, you'll see that a airplane engine is longer than a buggy engine so your clutches and flywheel are not going to line up propperly with your car....
