Rustler Revo
should i get a RC Traxxas: Rustler VXL, a E-revo 1/16 4WD VXL, or a Slash VXL(no 4WD)?
It depends on what you want out of the RC and where you plan on running it. A 2WD Slash is not going to be fun in backyard bashing. It's made for a track or on the road. It's 2WD so mudding is out of the question. But it is extremely fun on a track. A mini E-Revo is over priced in my opinion and I like 1/10th or larger scale RC's. They are just more fun to play with and work on. I hear a lot of good things about the Rustler. Never owned one of those but at least the tires are larger than the slash if you plan on bashing in your back yard. Keep in mind that it's not good on an electric or nitro motor to run in the grass. It causes too much strain and will raise the temps on your motor and eventually cause damage. I've had the best luck with the Revo 3.3. You are in the right direction by going with Traxxas though. Best RC's I've ever owned out of the 15+ years I've been playing with them.
