Seaport Work Boat
I have a question for someone who lives in or knows NYC?
I am spending the weekend in NYC (2 blocks from Penn Station) and want to use the subway to get to certain places, but for the life of me I can't figure out the train schedule. I just need to know if I can get within 1/2 mile (give or take) of the following places from Penn Station:
empire state building
fifth ave shopping
Tribute WTC Visitor Center
South Street Seaport
Rockefeller Center
boat to Ellis Island/American Family Immigration History Center
Times Square
I realize that some of the places I listed might already be within walking distance of Penn Station, lol! The last time I was in NYC was when I was 11 yrs old for a school trip! Thanks.
Within a half mile of Penn Station are the Empire State Building at 34thstrret and Fifth Ave, obviously Fifth Avenue, but the best shopping is from 42d street up, Roche feller Center is at 53d and Fifth.
Times Square is at 42d and 7th ave, about a half mile from Penn Station.
The WTC Tribute, the Seaport and the boat are all near the southern tip of the Island. Depending on where you are, take a train down to the area. The WTC is by City Hall, the Seaport abou a half mile to the east and the boat ride due south of the Tribute. Walking distance, but it may be slightly over a half mile
