Trim Edge Molding
Boat Gunnel Replacement?
I would like to replace the metal trim and rubber molding that surrounds the edge of my 1969 Glasspar. Any help on where to get parts or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I like the other answers but there must be a reason that your molding is having trouble, other than the fact that it is about 35 years old.
I would suggest that you take all of the molding off, and fill all the holes and re-resin and fiberglass where appropriate, when you have the trim and molding in hand add a last gel coat and clamp the trim and molding in place (While the gel is just a little "Tacky"). After the last gel hardens, (and while it is still clamped, re-drill the holes for that fasteners and re attach it. Wait about a day then go take the clamps off and see your beautiful work. Then sand or buff as required to get the show room look.
